I used to think that the age of adventurers and pioneers is over, though you just proved that that spirit is still alive and strong. I witnessed you training hard for the race and at the same time working hard and maintaining the punishing demands of your day job. I am in awe
Yeah, big deal. So what?; my grandmother could have done that. Oooooo, look at me; I ran 152.4 miles through the desert with full gear in 110 degree heat. Let's see you run a full 153 miles, Mister Big Man.
Seriously in awe. Knew you could do it. Congratulations. I'm not worthy. Tommy Kaye

54 others found it too tough to continue what was the longest MdS on record! Simply amazing first outing Jeff! Your discipline and courage are an inspiration.
Excellent finish, Jeff! All your preparation, focus, dedication and perseverance paid off. And, children around the world benefit too. Congratulations!!
YAAAAYYY, JEFF!!! What an AMAZING feat/accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would have been totally amazing just to finish - but to be in the top 50 - WOW! I can't even begin to imagine how you must be feeling emotionally, not to mention physically. And Becky, Shelia and Garry, I'm sure you also feel tremendous relief in addition to your joy and pride in him. Thelma and Bob
The Marathon des Sables is a 7-day (6-stage) running race across the Moroccan Sahara. Athletes run the 243k/151 mile course wearing backpacks that contain their food for 7 days, sleeping bag, and survival equipment. The temperature variations are extreme, with daytime temperatures soaring above 120F/48C and nighttime temps plunging to freezing. It's known as the toughest footrace on the planet.
